The Daytona 500 winner was awake early on Monday for the traditional winner's breakfast and photo shoot. He made a stop on the way.
NASCAR's most popular driver has set Twitter ablaze by posting a selfie in front of a statue of his father, the late Dale Earnhardt, at the Daytona Experience, site of the traditional winner's breakfast and photo opportunity the morning following the Great American Race. The driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet joined Twitter while in victory lane.
After winning his second Daytona 500 last night, Earnhardt Jr. was visibily excited during his post-race celebrations, pumping his fist in the cockpit as he drove close to fans leaning against the catchfence.
"Winning this race is the greatest feeling in the world for a race driver, and it is hard to put into words. I feel very lucky," he said after winning the rain-delayed race.
The selfie's caption reads: "Look who I ran into at the Daytona Experience. Dad's Happy!"
