TONY STEWART, No. 20 Home Depot Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 8th
Was your qualifying lap what you expected? "I was pretty happy with it. We picked up from practice, we picked up three-tenths I guess. That's probably for this time of day is going to be a half-way decent lap right now. It pretty much had the same balance it just picked up because the temperature cooled off."
What do you need to do to get the car race ready? "We'll keep working on the balance, trying to keep what happened last week from happening this weekend. Just keep working on it."
DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 44 UPS Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 12th
How did your car handle during your qualifying run? "Yeah, it was ok. We were a little bit loose and that cost us a little bit of time but overall it was pretty balanced and it drove pretty well. Don't have any real big complaints but just missed it a little bit."
How was your qualifying run? "I was hoping it would be a little bit better than that. The car felt better than that. It just didn't go as fast as I thought it would. It was a big difference between the way we ended practice and that run right there. I think the track gained grip. I think I left a little bit on the table but all in all it was an okay run. I think we could've done better."
Will the track change for the race? "The track is going to change a lot. It's going to require a completely different set-up to race here than it is qualifying. I think the tires are going to fall off and the track is going to get really slick."
MICHAEL WALTRIP, No. 55 NAPA Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 15th
How did your car handle during your qualifying run? "It was good. The team did a great job with the adjustments. The thing was balanced well. We've been qualifying real bad so I was really motivated to try to get them a good lap. They deserved it and we got them one."
DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 17th
How was your qualifying lap? "With our draw we knew it was going to hurt us but we picked up some time from practice and that's a good accomplishment for our race team. We're making gains on this qualifying thing. We typically don't qualify that well this year so anywhere mid- pack will be ok with us." How does it feel to finally get to qualify after rain canceled qualifying the last few weeks? "It feels good. I'm glad to get back to qualifying because we hate starting by points because it kind of has all of the Chasers' in there. It definitely is a lot better for us to qualify and kind of mix up the field a little bit."
MARCOS AMBROSE, No. 47 Little Debbie Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 24th
How was your qualifying run? "It was just decent. We got loose on the first lap and had to do a second lap there. It was a bit unfortunate."
KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 M&M's Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 29th
How was your qualifying run? "That's not the lap we were hoping for. The car was as good as it's been all day, but we just don't have any speed. I guess we've got a lot of work tomorrow with our M&M's Toyota to make it better for Sunday."
How did your car handle during your qualifying run? "In practice today we had a really good car and I thought we'd be better in qualifying than we were. I wish we had a better starting spot, but I think we're going to be in good shape for the race on Sunday."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 02 Home Depot Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 43rd
Did you think you didn't make the race? "I didn't think at all that we made it. The guys did a good job. We changed a lot and it actually picked up a lot from our practice speed so I want to thank Home Depot for giving us this opportunity here to get us in the race. I'm pretty sure I have a better race car than qualifying car. We were good in race trim at the beginning of the practice than for qualifying trim we were junk. We weren't much better this time but that's why we have tomorrow to work on this thing."
What is it like to try to learn these cars in the middle of the season? "It's not easy. But if it was easy everyone would be doing it, too. It's part of the learning curve. I'm glad we got it in, that's for sure."
