RIGGS FINISHES 34TH IN TEXAS

FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 6, 2005)-- Scott Riggs finished 34th in Sunday's Dickies 500 here at Texas Motor Speedway.

The sophomore driver started the race 22nd but quickly fell through the field as he struggled with the handling of his No. 10 CENTRIX Financial/ Valvoline Chevrolet.

"The car just wasn't very good today," said Riggs. "It wasn't too bad in qualifying setup Friday, but starting in race-trim practice we really struggled. We decided to set the car up exactly how it was when we were at Texas in the spring hoping to hit on something because everything we brought differently this time wasn't working. But when the race started we still had trouble."

The No. 10 team worked tirelessly in the pits throughout the event to find a fix for the ill-handling machine but nothing seemed to click.

"We tried everything," offered Riggs. "We adjusted and tuned and tried all sorts of things but we couldn't get anything to work. It certainly wasn't for lack of effort. Everyone did an awesome job making good pits stops and taking huge swings at it trying to learn something and make it better but nothing we did made a difference."

"This is not the kind of performance the team expects or is proud of," he continued. "Right now, it's a mystery. We'll get it figured out though and not let it happen again. We've got two races to go this season-- that's two more races we'll keep fighting for a win."
