Texas II: Ford teams qualifying quotes

MARK MARTIN - No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 28th) "That's good. I don't care if it is 30th because that was good for our car. That was a good lap. I was in the gas a lot and it certainly didn't handle bad. We'll just see what we can do racing.

"That's good. I don't care if it is 30th because that was good for our car. That was a good lap. I was in the gas a lot and it certainly didn't handle bad. We'll just see what we can do racing. We were 29th-fastest in practice and I don't expect that to be much better than that. It's probably gonna be about the same."

DALE JARRETT - No. 88 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 20th)

"We just made one attempt at it. We're not sure about the weather tomorrow, so we worked a lot on race stuff and by the end of that practice we had it really good in race trim. That gives us a good direction whether we practice or we don't tomorrow, and then we just made one attempt and then we were able to go out and pick up about four tenths. That was good. The car is driving really well, so I'm happy."

DAVID GILLILAND - No. 38 Combos Ford Fusion (Qualified 7th)

"We're getting better. We had a great test at Homestead. It really helped us a lot as a team and we learned a lot. It's really given us a good foundation and to be able to go and test on the tires we're gonna race on there at Homestead, we learned a lot and I learned a lot as a driver. Todd and I, our relationship has been getting better and better. He's instilling more trust in me and likewise, so it's been really good. I'm just real proud of the M&M's team and I can't be happier. We're getting there. When I came into the Nextel Cup Series I really hadn't had a lot of Busch experience and to come into a series like this and be able to gradually improve our performance each week, that's exactly why we started this year for is to be prepared for next year, and I think we're definitely heading in the right direction."

KEN SCHRADER - No. 21 Little Debbie Ford Fusion (Qualified 18th)

"We went out there and had run a .43, so we picked up and even though a lot of guys picked up, I'm happy. The track is better. They tightened up the car. I wanted it a little bit tighter and they did that, so it was a good lap."

CARL EDWARDS - No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Qualified 15th)

"That's good for how we have been qualifying lately. That's great. We had the advantage of having a late draw and that's partly why we ran as fast as we did, but that should be in the top 13 or 14, so that will be fine."
