Keys for Success: Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway

FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 1, 2008) -- Each race weekend, random Dodge Motorsports crew chiefs, drivers, engine specialists and team members give their insight on the 'keys to success' for the upcoming race. This week, the green flag drops on the Dickies 500 at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway

Trivia Question (see below) Who is the only team owner to win championships in both the NHRA and NASCAR?

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) "It's really important to get your car to rotate through the corner because carrying speed into the straightaways is key here. Turn 1 can be tough because it's really flat coming into the corner and it's a spot on the track that if your car won't turn, you'll lose a bunch of speed."

ROY MCCAULEY (Crew Chief, No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) "You can't get tight coming off the corners of Turn 2 and Turn 4. If you are tight coming off the corners, that means the car will lose all of its speed and be dead slow down the straightaways. That is not something you want on a track that is as fast at Texas."

Answer to trivia question: Texas native Raymond Beadle. In the sport of drag racing, Beadle's 'Blue Max' cars won three consecutive NHRA Funny Car championships from 1979 to 1981 and three IHRA funny car championships. In NASCAR, Raymond Beadle owned a NASCAR Winston Cup team from 1983 to 1990, winning the 1989 Winston Cup Championship with driver Rusty Wallace.*
