Sadler's dream finish crashed at Texas.

JUSTIN, Texas (March 30, 2003) -- Elliott Sadler and the "M&M's"® Team had an incredible day - until lap 168 that is. Sadler and the Candy Crew started the Samsung/ Radio Shack 500 in the second position but ended up 41st after a crash took them out of contention.

On the first lap, Sadler jumped to the lead over pole sitter Bobby Labonte. He was clearly the strongest car in the field leading for race-high 91 laps. The "M&M's" team stayed in contention until pit stops on lap 157. Sadler went out of the pits second and shortly after radioed to the crew that he felt like something was wrong with the car. Sadler fell back to sixth before the right rear of the "M&M's" car tagged the wall dashing all hopes of a win for the No. 38.

"Something happened on that restart," said Sadler. "I don't know. It was just a real, real bad set of tires or I had a right-rear (tire) going down. It actually felt like I had a right-rear going down and I was letting some of the guys go by. It was flat after the crash, but I spun so much that I don't know what happened. I just want to apologize to all the M&M's fans and Robert Yates fans out there. We had a car to beat again today, we just got a little loose there and spun out and tore it all to pieces. I'm a little sore. I'd like to tell my mom and dad I'm OK at home, but the guys did a great job building me a safe car at the shop."

The "M&M's" team will regroup and head to Talladega next weekend for the Aaron's 499.
