RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) Qualified 4th

"I felt like I had a really good lap. I didn't push it as hard on the first lap as I did on the second. I actually went slower the harder that I pushed the car. The delay (Michael McDowell accident) kind of hurt us, more so in having a lack of confidence that you have when you see somebody crash like Michael did. When he blew an engine like he did, it always makes you nervous when you're one of the first cars out on the track after."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger) Qualified 10th

"It was difficult to go fast because we didn't get to adjust on the car like we wanted to. We had some problems with the Budweiser Dodge Charger car in practice earlier today which set us back a bit. We just made a real good guess based upon the information that we were able to get from our teammates. Kenny (Francis) and the team did a great job fixing the car and we made a great lap."

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger) Qualified 11th

"The lap was OK. One and two were really good; three and four I thought we would have a little more grip and I went in a little too fast and I killed the exit. I guess it happens. We started pretty bad in practice; the car was really loose getting in like it was in Vegas, so we made a lot of changes. I was pretty happy with the way we qualified. We made a lot of progress. So far, we have a pretty good car."

ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 Jim Beam Dodge Charger) Qualified 15th

"I'm pretty happy with that lap to be honest with you. It was a good run for the No. 7 Jim Beam Dodge Charger. We weren't very good in practice, but we were able to share some information with Kasey (Kahne) and we both jumped up. Thanks to Elliott (Sadler) and Patrick (Carpentier), they had some good cars in qualifying trim and we adapted and that worked out for us."

SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger) Qualified 17th

"I always want to run better every time I'm on track. It was a difficult day today with the pressure of qualifying on time. After practice, we compared notes with our teammates and that really helped us in qualifying. We thought that we were far off from where we needed to be. We got a little bit behind in practice and couldn't get the car freed up enough and it was just way too tight. We were still too tight there but I guess we got it heading in the right direction. I'm really proud of the Mobil 1 team for all of their hard work today."

KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger) Qualified 23rd

"We picked up a little speed from practice, but obviously not enough to run a great number in qualifying. We've got some work to do on our race setup, but I'm confident that we can make some adjustments on our Miller Lite Dodge tomorrow during practice and be ready for Sunday."

ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger) Qualified 26th

"It's tough going out first to qualify. We didn't really work on qualifying much today in practice. We worked on race stuff because we knew that we were going out first and it was going to be tough to run a great lap. We're going to take our medicine today in qualifying and go get em' on Sunday."

PATRICK CARPENTIER (No. 10 Valvoline Dodge Charger) Qualified 27th

"The car is really, really good because to run that lap, I was off throttle. I lifted there, lifted there, lifted there at the end [points to Turn 4] and if we would have had the same as we had in practice this morning I think would have been really good up there. The car is really good. It stuck the ground. The back end is solid but some reason there was something that kind of turned right before it turned left and I really had to use a lot of steering input into it to make the car go around the corner. I really had to put a lot of steering input into it. I thought we were not making it so the car is pretty good. I've got to thank Dodge because we've got some good power. The car is good. We gave our stuff to the other guys and they're all up front and that's where I want to be. We'll look at what happened but I'm still very happy. We're making the race."

BOBBY LABONTE (No. 43 Cheerios/Sam's Club Dodge Charger) Qualified 30th

"We were just tight before we ran and then got even tighter during the qualifying run, so that didn't change too much. Somehow we got too tight in practice and we couldn't get the car to free up."
