"I know a lot of teams don't look forward to going plate racing, but it something we look forward to. We've got an excellent restrictor plate program that hasn't shown signs of weakening any time soon. We've also got our teammate running with us again this weekend so that will definitely help. Dave (Blaney) pushed us all the way to the front in the 500 (Daytona) and we were able to stay there all day. It's always better having a teammate at plate races so you can work together and maximize the finishes for the whole organization. Dave and I work really well together, so it should be fun."
Frank Stoddard on Talladega--
"It's like sitting on pins and needles when you go to restrictor plate races. You can have a really good car and get taken out in someone else's wreck. I think the worst thing about it is you don't control your own destiny. If you can go down there and run well, stay out if trouble and get into the lead draft, your chances of having a good finish are tremendously better. Our hope is to come out of there with a top 10 finish."
Wimmer will be in Nashville, TN on Thursday, April 22 visiting Cat Financial. He will visit with employees and also sign some autographs before heading down to Talladega, AL. Cat Financial, an associate sponsor on the #22, won the Malcolm Baldridge Award for business excellence. There are only a couple other sponsors in NASCAR who have ever won this award and there are no current sponsors who have won it recently. Earlier this year, the leadership of Cat Financial attended a dinner with President Busch to receive their award.
