DAVID RAGAN ,No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Finished 19th) -- Top Rookie
"When I was in the middle, man, that thing was hot and there for the middle part of the race I'd have to just drop back a little bit. They pulled a little bit of tape off there at the end, which allowed me to race a little harder. We had a great, strong car all day and I had a lot of fun."
YOU PUSHED JAMIE INTO THE LEAD AND THEN WHAT HAPPENED?
"Yeah, but they just fanned out and hung me out to dry there. I wish we would have had a few more friends. I was really hoping that Jamie and I could finish the race right there. We had a strong car, but it was just one of those days."
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ON THE FINAL RESTART?
"Nobody wants to hang with you there at the end. We had a strong enough car where, if we would have been in the right position, we could have won the race. We'll take it. It's a finish. We've got to keep working on our program here, but at least it's in the right direction."
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE FANS AFTER THE RACE?
"It's bad that they throw stuff on the track and hit the cars, but I think it's great that they've got a lot of passion. They're out here and they've got a lot of desire. They feel like they're some of us. We feel that bad when we don't finish good, but they need to find a better way than throwing stuff on the race track. On one side it's not good, but on the other side the fans here at Talladega are some of the best in the country."
