KEN SCHRADER, NO. 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

ON HIS ENGINE FAILURE: "We broke something in the valvetrain. I guess it's just a little problem they've run into on this run. We've got Hendrick engines and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I'm very happy with them. But, you abuse those parts so bad that, every now and then, one of them breaks. One of those parts broke today."

JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:

ON HIS ENGINE FAILURE: "I think maybe a spring just cracked or something, and eventually got a valve spring. But, the Hendrick engine was running really good. The Valvoline Pontiac was good. We hung out there at the back and that was our game plan - to stay back there. [Ken] Schrader went up there and tried it earlier and it looked like it took him about 18 or 20 laps to get up front and that was what our game plan was - just hang out at the back, wait, just wait, be patient and then go.

"Everything was good. Everybody drove smart today. I was real happy. Like I said, I think it probably cracked a valve spring and then as we went, I think it probably just got a valve. But, like I say, the horsepower was great. They did an awesome job. It's just unfortunate."
