TALLADEGA, Ala. (October 1, 2007) - Talladega Superspeedway is a track that David Reutimann has highlighted on his NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series schedule as the one that got away. Reutimann was well on his way to a top-three finish when his engine expired in the closing laps of the event in April. Now, Reutimann revisits the 2.66-mile tri-oval aiming to post his career-best finish in the No. 00 BURGER KING® Toyota Camry.

"We had a great run at Talladega earlier this season," said Reutimann, who finished 32nd due to engine woes. "We just had a failure right there at the end. We felt we were in contention to win. We would have easily left there with a top-five finish if it had not been for that failure. Now, we are going back this time with the COT looking to have another strong run and a better end result in the BURGER KING® Toyota."

In mid-September, Reutimann was pleasantly surprised with the COT during a NASCAR test at Talladega Superspeedway and he's ready for its restrictor-plate debut.

"When we tested the COT there, the cars drove really similar to the way the other Cup cars did," Reutimann said. "Although, I do think they will draft differently.

I feel like you will see the same big packs and tight racing that fans are accustomed to at Talladega. In testing, you can't always tell how things are going to be until you actually get into the race and have 43 cars trying to do the same thing."

Reutimann has pointed to Talladega as one of his favorites after racing there in NASCAR's top-three Series.

"I've also raced a Busch car and a Craftsman Truck there before," Reutimann said. "It's a fun track and I really like the job they've done repaving it. Plus, there's a dirt track right across from it. Any time there is a small dirt track near a big track that's a good thing for me. I'm going to race over there one night in a Dirt Late Model for Ivedent Lloyd, who I used to race against at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway. He was probably my fiercest competitor at a local dirt track. We beat on each other a lot and raced hard against one another. Over the years, he became a good friend."
