CAN YOU TALK ABOUT COMING BACK TO INFINEON RACEWAY AND HOW YOUR CAR WAS IN THE FIRST PRACTICE SESSION TODAY? "It's always good to come back to the west coast. For me to be here at Infineon Raceway, a place that has been special to me over the years, it's always fun to see everybody that I knew from the old west racing series. To be familiar with the track and make lefts, make rights, go up and down the hills and shift the gears - it's always a breath of fresh air to come to the road courses and experience what they're all about.

"For our Miller Lite Dodge team we've been running well on the track recently. We hope some of our knowledge and some of the quirky secrets that we've have help us at the road course. Nothing is ever a give at Infineon; you always have to battle hard. Today was OK for us in practice; it wasn't great. We'll make three or four changes -- even transmission changes before qualifying. With some of the speed that we have in certain areas of the track versus (others) where we've lost it, we have to find the right combination to make sure that we get the most speed out of the car."

IS THE HEADWIND COMING INTO TURN 11 CAUSING YOU ANY PROBLEMS? "I'd say that it's a bigger breeze than normal. You can feel the cool breeze come through the car and hopefully this weather stays with us through Sunday. It will make it a little cooler inside the car because this is one of the challenging tracks on the circuit because of the speed. We don't have a lot of high speed sections on this race track so it gets really hot inside the car."

YOU HAVE 10 RACES UNTIL THE CUTOFF TO THE CHASE, AT WHAT POINT DO YOU START PREPARING FOR THOSE FINAL 10 RACES? "Anytime that you go to a Chase race track early in the year that's a very important race. The second race of the year -- California Speedway -- you go to that race track knowing that this will be part of the Chase when we come back in the playoffs. Phoenix, Texas, those tracks (we race at) in April - you're already thinking Chase just because those tracks are participating in the Chase. Loudon next week is a big race track for us in our minds because that's the first race in the playoffs and you have to be ready to go and come out of the box strong. The bottom line is where you are in points gives you a comfort level and for us to be fourth overall, 110 points out of the lead, we feel like we can go out there and race for wins and get those bonus points racked up before the Chase begins. Then there are guys 11th, 12th in points barely hanging on to getting in the Chase, those guys are going to have higher stress levels leading up to these next 10 weeks. It just depends on where you are in the standings is how you look at what you have to do in the upcoming weeks."
