SOUTH HILL, Va. (September 26, 2001) -- Hermie Sadler announced today the addition of veteran crew chief Jim Long to the stable of his No. 13 Chevrolet.

Long began at Dover this past weekend as a consultant to Sadler, who after Dover plans to run three additional Winston Cup events -- Martinsville, Homestead, and Atlanta. Long had an immediate impact for Sadler as his team and Sadler qualified 32nd and finished 27th.

Long will continue his role as consultant with Sadler while exploring his options for 2002. "After working with Hermie last year, I was confident he has the ability to compete at the Winston Cup level," stated Long. "My goal is to bring some additional experience and leadership to his team that will enable him to be competitive."

Sadler is also elated to have Long's services. "With our team running a limited schedule and with me having no Winston Cup experience, it has been great to have someone with his experience to guide us through the steep learning curve in Winston Cup. I look forward to our remaining races together in 2001."
