MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 29, 2004) --- Robert Yates, owner of Robert Yates Racing (RYR), announced today a new partnership with CitiFinancial. Effective immediately, CitiFinancial is an associate sponsor of Robert Yates Racing, the No. 88 UPS race car driven by Dale Jarrett, and the No. 38 M&M'S race car driven by Elliott Sadler. CitiFinancial will be the exclusive financial service company for Robert Yates Racing.
"I'm excited about CitiFinancial's decision to join our organization," Yates said. "We are honored that CitiFinancial decided to enter into a relationship with Robert Yates Racing and look forward to their involvement with our organization and NASCAR. It's an honor for Carolyn and I, as well as for everyone that works at Robert Yates Racing."
"It's our primary goal here at RYR to win races and compete for championships, and we're on the right track to do that with both race teams," Yates added. "Our sponsors are very supportive of our drivers and race teams and we're excited about going to victory lane with CitiFinancial this year."
The partnership with Robert Yates Racing is CitiFinancial's first foray into NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Racing. As part of the organization's new association with Robert Yates Racing, CitiFinancial decals will be part of the No. 88 and No. 38 paint schemes for the rest of the 2004 NASCAR season, beginning with this weekend's NEXTEL Cup event at Daytona International Speedway.
"We're looking forward to a great relationship with Robert Yates and the UPS and M&M'S teams," said Harry Goff, President and CEO of CitiFinancial. "This association brings together the best of the best in their respective industries. Like CitiFinancial, Robert Yates Racing and his teams are leaders in the industry."
"CitiFinancial is a respected and well-known company," said Dale Jarrett, driver of the UPS race car. "The last several years, many top-level companies and organizations have sat up and taken notice of NASCAR and what it offers. To be able to attract a company like CitiFinancial to NASCAR and to Robert Yates Racing speaks volumes about the status our sport has reached and the first class organization Robert Yates Racing is."
"When the team you represent attracts high profile companies like CitiFinancial, you know you are working for the best," said Elliott Sadler, driver of the M&M'S race car. "Robert Yates Racing is the leader in the racing industry and CitiFinancial is the leading community based lender so it's a great match. The addition of CitiFinancial will only strengthen our teams as we head into the chase to the championship."
"Having participated in NASCAR partnerships in the past, I know the excitement and pride that comes with aligning with this powerful industry for both our customers and our employees," said Barry Hess, Head of Marketing for CitiFinancial.
