Brad Parrott was not out of a job for long, no sooner had he been released by Robert Yates Racing before landing back on the doorstep of Roush Racing. In the world of musical crews in NASCAR racing, Parrott went from working for the No. 88 Ford of Dale Jarrett at Talladega for preparing for the Martinsville race this weekend with the No. 99 Ford driven by Jeff Burton.

On Wednesday, April 9, RYR announced that Parrott had been released. ""We are in the business of winning races and championships," stated General Manager Doug Yates.

"For the last several races, this team hasn't performed to the level that we know it is capable of performing. We said at the beginning of 2003 we would do whatever it took to get the #88 team and Dale Jarrett back to championship contending form."

Today, April 10th, Roush Racing announced that Parrott will report to Crew Chief Paul Andrews.

"I think this is a really good thing," Andrews commented. "We will be able to utilize Brad's [Parrott] knowledge and expertise to help advance the No. 99 team."

Parrott was Burton's crew chief for the Busch Series team. In 2002, the two combined for five wins for a short season consisting of 14 races.

"Our Busch Series team had a lot of success last year," said Burton. "Brad [Parrott] was a big contributor to that success so we think he can come in and help the No. 99 team this year."
