CONCORD, N.C. (November 9, 2004) - Roush Racing announced today that World Financial Group, Inc. (WFG) will sponsor Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford once again this coming weekend at Darlington Raceway for the Southern 500. World Financial Group will appear as the primary sponsor on the No. 99 Ford for the second time in three weeks. In their first outing with the No. 99 team, Edwards and the No. 99 team gave WFG the ride of their life including a run for the win, never racing below sixth place in 325 laps.

"I'm really excited to have World Financial Group back on the car in Darlington," said Edwards. "We had such an awesome weekend with them in Atlanta from start to finish. We had our strongest race of the year with them and we certainly hope to improve on that at Darlington. The entire No. 99 team is proud to carry the colors of World Financial Group on the No. 99 Ford and we will do our best to put them back up front at the Southern 500."

The No. 99 team's showing at Atlanta Motor Speedway was a successful outing for first time sponsor World Financial Group, one that the company is using to their advantage. "After getting to know Carl and the first-class team at Roush Racing and seeing the positive effect our Atlanta sponsorship had on our field and the company, the decision to sponsor the No. 99 car for Darlington was an easy one," said Tim Stonehocker, President & CEO of World Financial Group. "Not only was our entire company supercharged by the experience, the entire World Financial Group family was honored to have a tremendous talent like Carl representing us. We believe Carl is on his way to being a dominant force in this sport and we are proud to be part of this first chapter in what we believe will be a long and successful career."

To date Edwards has accrued one top-five and four top-10 finishes in the NEXTEL Cup series in just 12 starts. The team's strongest run with Edwards at the wheel came two weeks ago at Atlanta Motor Speedway when Edwards achieved a series of career bests and firsts in the NEXTEL Cup Series. Edwards chalked up his first top-five finish and first laps lead as a Cup driver in addition to qualifying a career best fourth and finishing a career best third. The team is hoping to improve on that run this coming weekend at the Southern 500 and although they've set a high bar, Edwards and the No. 99 team are more than capable of not only reaching the bar, but surpassing it.
