RAYBESTOS ROOKIE PRESS CONFERENCE
"We had a really great race car today. It was unfortunate that we had a couple bad pit stops. One was the guys' fault and one was my fault, but we got two laps down and we were able to fight our way back. That's pretty impressive because it's hard to do that here at Rockingham. It's just great to have another top 15 run. It's good for us as far as the rookie of the year is concerned and also the points championship because that's another big concern of ours. I'm happy to get all of the laps in because that means more seat time for me. I'm looking forward to Las Vegas with this ALLTEL team."
WHAT HAPPENED ON THE PIT STOP THAT WAS YOUR FAULT? "The way the infield curves around on pit road, I couldn't see. I just miss gauged and thought I was in front of the 99 car, but I was supposed to be behind the 99 car. I stopped about 20 feet outside the box, so I had to back it up and bring it back in and that cost us pretty big."
WHAT DID YOU LEARN TODAY? "Just about patience and driving the race car on new tires and old tires, working with other drivers. All of this is new to me, working with drivers that didn't participate in the Busch Series last year. I've only got eight Winston Cup races previous to this myself, so the more out there I can get with these guys, the more comfortable it will be for me to work with them and more comfortable it will be for them to work with me."
