-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Avenger, will make his 11th Cup Series start at Richmond International Raceway and his 198th in the series.

-- Newman has an average start of 7.2 and an average finish of 11.6. He has seven top-10 starts at the Virginia track, including six from the top five. Newman has one pole -- September 2004.

-- Newman has earned seven top-10 finishes at RIR, including one win in the fall of 2003 and five top-fives.

-- In 10 previous races, Newman has led a total of 354 laps in six of those events. He has completed 3,875 laps of a possible 3,993, giving him a 97 percent completion rate.

-- Newman and his Alltel team are using chassis PRS-515 at Richmond. It is a new COT car and has never been on the track. The backup car is PRS-509, which was tested at Richmond in early April. It also has not been used in a race.

Newman On Richmond: "I like racing at Richmond and it's always fun to race at night. We've had a lot of success at Richmond; won a race a few years back and we've done really well in qualifying there. We'll be back in the COT cars and we've had some decent runs in the car. We had a car capable of winning in Phoenix two weeks ago, but ran into some bad luck during our last pit stop that cost us a good finish."

"We had a really good finish yesterday [Sunday] in Talladega and this team really needed that. We fought back through the bad luck and definitely earned our top-10 finish. I was very happy with the hard work that my team put in on pit road after our tire went down. The fact that they were able to keep me on the lead lap was a big part of the reason that we finished ninth."
