REED SORENSON TOPS SPEED CHARTS ON THE SECOND AND FINAL DAY OF NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES TESTING AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Richmond, VA (April 4, 2007)--Reed Sorenson led the second and final day of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Car of Tomorrow (CoT) testing at Richmond International Raceway on Wednesday. Fifty-one drivers turned laps around America's Premier Short Track in preparation for the Crown Royal Presents The Jim Stewart 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, May 5.

Sorenson's top speed was nearly one mph faster than Kenny Wallace's best speed of 122.416 mph (22.056 seconds) yesterday. The top five speeds overall from today's two sessions were:

1. Reed Sorenson: 123.215 mph (21.913 seconds)
2. Kurt Busch: 123.141 mph (21.926 seconds)
3. Johnny Benson: 123.136 mph (21.927 seconds)
4. Kurt Busch 123.029 mph (21.946 seconds)
5. Jeff Green 122.945 mph (21.961 seconds)

Rookie sensation Juan Pablo Montoya was impressive in his unofficial Richmond International Raceway debut. The former Formula 1 standout, CART champion and Indianapolis 500 winner was second fastest in the afternoon session with a speed of 122.393 mph (22.060 seconds).

The next official NASCAR on-track activity at Richmond International Raceway will be during race weekend May 4-5!
