DAVID STREMME (No. 40 Lone Star Steakhouse Dodge Charger) -- Fastest Dodge, qualified 11th
"We got a good starting spot, so I'm going to take the rest of the night off and have a steak and a cold beer. We only made one run in practice. I feel better about my race car than anything. I'm proud of all my guys. I think we can come in here with a good short track program and capitalize on it. All three of the Ganassi cars are pretty good. We put a lot of emphasis in the short track program earlier this year, and it's paid off. It's a building process, and we're working on some intermediate cars."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- 14th
"I think we're starting to come together. We were fast at Bristol and ran good at California last week. I think they've given me a great race car to come to Richmond tomorrow night and be competitive. We'll get a good pit selection and go get 'em for 400 laps tomorrow night."
REED SORENSON (No. 41 Nicorrette/Target Dodge Charger) -- 29th
"We were just a little free. We'll be OK. We did our qualifying run and made a little mistake. We didn't fill it up with fuel. We put fuel in and we were going to do another run and we started leaking oil. We never got to do our second qualifying run, so we kinda went in the dark there a little bit. The car was good in practice. We've got 400 laps to get up there."
CASEY MEARS (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger) -- 13th
"We were loose. We had a decent balance in practice, but on that run we were way too loose everywhere."
RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Sony Dodge Charger) -- 23rd
"We picked up three tenths, and we should have picked up way more than that from what we practiced. This car seems to be OK for long run speeds, but it's not good for one lap speeds. Maybe that's a good problem for us."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger) -- 20th
"I was a little bit surprised. It didn't turn. It slid real bad and the track was slippery. It was different. Ryan Newman said the same thing I just said. We heard the track had a lot of grip, and I didn't feel like there was any grip out there at all. Things had really changed since practice."
