In the last 10 Old Dominion 500 NASCAR Winston Cup events at Martinsville Speedway, there have been nine different winners.
The 46th annual classic will be run on Sunday, October 14 with posted awards of $3,029,236 and the 10th different winner in 11 years could be on the way.
In the 1990s, only Geoffrey Bodine and Jeff Gordon were able to take the fall event twice, Bodine winning in1990 and 1992 and Gordon in 1996 and 1999.
Harry Gant scored in 1991 while the other winners have been Ernie Irvan, Rusty Wallace, the late Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Burton, Ricky Rudd and defending champion Tony Stewart.
Sharing the big weekend of racing will be the $90,068 Advance Auto Parts 200 NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour race on Saturday. The action starts on Friday, October 12 with practice and Winston Cup qualifying at 3:05 p.m. followed by a 30-lap Anderson Tractor John Deere Allison Legacy Series race.
Admission is $15 for adults with children under 12 admitted free with a paying adult. All seats are unreserved.
Modifieds practice and time trial at 11 a.m. on Saturday and run their race at 2:45 p.m. and admission is $30 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. All seats are unreserved.
The Old Dominion 500 takes the green flag at 12:30 on Sunday, October 14.
