Regan Smith and his passengers were uninjured in a crash earlier this morning on a mountain road near Evergreen, Colorado. Paul Menard and Megan Smith were in the Silverado, along with a friend, as the foursome had planned a day of skiing.

The Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet driver hit an icy match on the mountain road and then slid into the trees as they left the road. Knowing how icy conditions can me in his hometown, Smith obviously knew that to make any sudden wheel movements that could have caused a roll over.

No comment from Smith or Richard Childress Racing’s Menard. The two Chevy drivers were taking a break to hit the slopes between the recent Phoenix NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Both will be ready for the Las Vegas event this coming weekend and no doubt, will be looking for some good luck; after the first two races, Menard sits 14th in the points while Smith is 19th.
