The following are facts and figures regarding the cars Pontiac teams will be running this week during the NASCAR Winston Cup event at North Carolina Speedway.
Valvoline Grand Prix driver Johnny Benson is driving "The Honeymoon Special" - a chassis James Ince designed on his honeymoon in Paris, France, last winter. The car has earned two sixth place finishes and a seventh this year in its four starts. Its last appearance was at Darlington where Benson drove to a 14th place result.
Conseco Pontiac driver Ron Hornaday is behind the wheel of the Grand Prix he last ran at Dover Downs, where he qualified eighth and ran among the top 10 until being spun by another car into the front straightaway wall (finished 34th). Hornaday also drove the car to a 34th place finish at California Speedway on April 29.
Bobby Labonte enters this weekend with one career Rockingham win and five career top fives at the one-mile oval. The Corpus Christi, Texas driver is behind the wheel of the Grand Prix that last competed at Dover Downs, where it was involved in an early incident that sentenced Labonte to a 36th place finish.
Home Depot Grand Prix driver Tony Stewart collected his 14th top five of 2001 last weekend at Phoenix. One of those results came here back in February when Stewart drove to a fourth place finish.
