SCHRADER'S THOUGHTS HEADING INTO THE PENNSYLVANIA 500: * "When we were here last month we had a good qualifying effort, but we didn't have a good finish," said Schrader. "Our chances of having a good finish came to a quick end when we ran over some debris and cut down the left-front tire. After we cut the tire, we had to run around the track with the front end dragging on the ground which caused damage to the front sway bar. After that, the No. 33 was hard to drive.

"I hope to have a good run this weekend, if we can only stay out of trouble."

Schrader holds the record for most pole positions with five; he has qualified in the top-ten 20 out of the last 23 races. CREW CHIEF SHOP TALK: * "We're taking the same car we ran at Pocono last month," said Sam Johns. "We had a real good race car, but never had the opportunity to have a good finish. The car ran good throughout all the practices and had a good qualifying run. When we get back there this weekend, we'll have a good base line to start off with." SKOAL RACING TEAM NEWS: * The Skoal Racing team spent this week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway testing the No. 33 Monte Carlo for the upcoming Brickyard 400. They tested a new car and the car they raced in the Winston Open at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May.

* Schrader was busy short track racing in the Midwest on his off weekend. He raced his late model stock car at State Fair Motor Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., last week where he won the event. Saturday night he raced at his track, I-55 Speedway in Pevely, Mo., where he finished fourth.
