Robby Gordon Pennsylvania 500 Preview
CHARLOTTE, NC (July 30, 2008) - Robby Gordon is heading back to the "Keystone State" for Sunday's Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway and his 15th start at the unique 2.5-mile triangular-shaped track.
TV and Radio Times - Qualifying is set for August 1 at 3:40 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2, MRN, and Sirius. The 200 laps of racing action begins on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN, MRN and Sirius Satellite radio.
This Week's Activities - "We have had a busy week. We tested our Cup and Nationwide cars on Tuesday and Wednesday at Road Atlanta in preparation for next week's double header at The Glen," stated Gordon. "Watkins Glen is one of our most important races all year because we are expected to excel and compete for the win. We have put a lot of emphasis on preparing for both races. Both cars were fast at the test, and I think that we found some stuff that is going to make us even better when we unload next weekend at The Glen."
Pocono - "I like coming to Pocono; it's a different track that fits my driving style. Pocono is a very difficult track for the COT though. It's flat, fast, and rough, which makes it challenging to get the car to handle well in all three corners. One of the main things you really need to be successful here is the ability to pick up the throttle early in Turn 3 and a strong motor to pull you down the long front stretch. And don't forget that track position is also important for a successful finish."
Appearance Schedule -On Sunday, Gordon will sign autographs at his souvenir trailer at 10:45 a.m.
