Kyle Busch , No. 5 Kellogg's/CARQUEST Monte Carlo SS, qualified third at Pocono Raceway

ON HIS QUALIFYING LAP AND CHANGES IN THE TRACK:

"Well, in the beginning, I think it was pretty cool. Jimmie Johnson ran it out a little bit as it was sprinkling. Seemed like the sun came out and it got a little bit warmer for everybody, times seemed to slow down for a few guys. Kurt (Busch) still laid an awesome lap down there is the middle of the sun. Then it started cooling off a little bit with the shade and, of course, the brief rain shower there again right before Junior (Dale Earnhardt, Jr.) was trying to complete his lap there and was able to get back out.

"Being third is not bad here at Pocono. We ended up I think fourth in qualifying here in the Spring. Had a great race going, we were battling up in the front there with some of those guys. So hopefully we can do the same this time.

"The lap was good. I felt like I got everything I could out of the race car, unlike Indianapolis last week where I felt like I missed every corner. This week, we were able to hit everything right and third best was it."

ON LOOKING AT FIRST DRAFTS OF CONTRACTS:

"That is about it. We have a few drafts from some people. We will sit down and look at those on Monday and a couple of them showed up I think Thursday and another one Friday - today. I will look at the Monday, I don't like to take attention away from my racing program any, so we aren't going to worry about that until Monday."

ON RACING CLOSE WITH KURT GOING IN TO THE FIRST TURN OF THE FIRST LAP:

"It should work out just fine. I think I start behind the Bud car, so hopefully no blue paint gets on the red car and I think Newman (Ryan) is fourth so hopefully no white/black, whatever color is on his car, gets on the white of the bottom of Kurt's rear bumper. I think everything will work out just fine. We will get down in there and see who comes out of Turn One with the lead, I think we will have a pretty good race car for Sunday overall and be able to race those guys up front. I know when we raced here the previous time, Denny (Hamlin) was really really good and (Tony) Stewart was really really good, they run up front most of the time. There was a gaggle of us that were battling for third. It was Newman, myself, Kurt, Martin Truex and I think I am spacing out one other one that was up there, we were all just all over each other, Burton, Jeff Burton. There was definitely a battle for third going on. But it seems like one and two with the No. 11 and the No. 20 were pr etty good."

ON KURT MAKING THE CHASE:

"Well, there are 500 miles here to race on Sunday. Lining up doesn't mean much I don't think. I think it is just about a battle throughout the whole race, seeing who can come out better. Kurt has an awesome shot at making the Chase, so does Junior. I think it is going to be tight, hopefully an exciting Chase for TV so they can make something of it coming to Richmond."

ON WHAT POINT RACING AT POCONO DO YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN:

"On probably about lap 10, maybe eight, you figure it out and see where you are going to end up. Some guys who start further in the back who maybe didn't qualify so well, they will come up through the field and be there at the end of the race. It can all come down to pit strategy. It could all come down to fuel mileage. It can come down to guys having brakes at the end of the race; I mean brakes on the race car, not breaks on the track. It can come down to basically keeping all four tires under you. You can't burn your right front off or burn your brakes out. There are a lot of different circumstances every week that come in to play. Sometimes you are running around there in fifth and all of a sudden you see guys dwindling down either because they are crashing or something goes wrong. I am sure a lot of guys have seen that with me and I have seen that with a few others too. It is the same thing every week."
