"I went to Pocono last year for my first Cup race with the No. 45 Marathon American Spirit Motor Oil Dodge and had a strong run. We had a top-15 car, but the race was shortened due to rain and we never had a chance to improve the car even more. If we can put that kind of car on the track again I'm confident that we will have a good point's day. That is our focus right now. We need to gain as many points as we can on the cars in front of us in the owner point's standings."
"Winning the ARCA race for Petty Enterprises at Pocono last year is definitely one of the highlights of my career. You could see the excitement on the face of 'The King' when he came to Victory Lane. I want to do that again. I want everyone in this organization to get excited and have confidence when I step into the car. 'The King,' Kyle, Robbie, everyone at Petty Enterprises has given me a great opportunity. I'm going to make the most of it."
"I've done some testing for Petty Enterprises this year and I think that's helped me a lot with the new car. After Chicagoland we loaded up the test team and went to Nashville to work on some stuff for Indy. We hit on a few things and you could see it with both the No. 43 and No. 45 cars at the Brickyard. They were competitive, under the circumstances. A lot of that information should translate over to Pocono this weekend too."
* In 2007, McCumbee competed in two Cup Series races for Petty Enterprises with a high finish of 25th at Pocono.
* McCumbee is currently 12th in the Craftsman Truck Series point standings. It is third year driving in that series.
* McCumbee, 23, won an ARCA event last June at Pocono Raceway on the same weekend that he made his Cup Series debut in the #45 Petty Enterprises Dodge.
* Kyle Petty will return to the #45 Dodge for the August 10 event at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International and Terry Labonte will be in the car for the August 17 race at Michigan International Speedway.
