CAT Team looks to the desert to end dry spell.
"The CAT Racing teams short track program has been its strong suit this
year.`Usually it's the program we struggle the most with, but for one
reason or another we have really hit on something there.`I hope we can
continue that this weekend in Phoenix.`Frankie was in victory lane the
past two years and now I hope we can get there together this weekend."
-Ward Burton, No. 22 Caterpillar Dodge
BURTON ON PHOENIX...
"The CAT team has done a great job at improving our short track program.JWe have improved at Loudon, Richmond, Martinsville and Bristol.`Of those tracks, we have a win at New Hampshire, and could have contended for a win at Bristol, Martinsville and Richmond.`We sat on the pole at Richmond in the spring and have generally qualified pretty well at the short tracks, so I am really looking forward to heading to Phoenix.`I feel like we can be fairly competitive this weekend at Phoenix.`We just need to work real hard at getting the nose to turn and the good finish will come as a result of that."
STODDARD ON PHOENIX...
"I am looking forward to getting back to Phoenix.`Given the fact that the CAT team has run well at most of the short tracks this year, I feel like we can run just as well at Phoenix this weekend.`I think with the success that the CAT team has had and the success that I have been fortunate to have at Phoenix, together we can do great things this weekend.
"Ward has really improved on the short tracks and you can see that he has progressively gotten better here over the past few years.`We had a great car at Martinsville and they had a great car at New Hampshire and at Richmond.`We'll see what we can do together.`I hope we can get the CAT Dodge into victory lane."
Bill and Gail Davis flew to Albuquerque, NM on Monday and joined MRN's David Hyatt and another couple to get a motorcycle ride in.`They will ride throughout the Rocky Mountains and eventually make their way to Las Vegas where the Davis' will attend a Dodge function before heading to Phoenix Thursday night.J0x00b7 Burton will be making a stop in Las Vegas as well before heading to Tucson, AZ for an appearance at Empire Machinery, a Caterpillar dealership.
