RYAN NEWMAN (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger)

"I thought that was a pretty good lap all things considered. I obviously wanted to have a shot at the pole, but it was a good effort. We had a lot of things we had to adjust. You spend two hours of practice getting the car just right and then somebody sticks you in the fence. We did everything we could to get this car right for two laps. It was a good effort by everybody on the team. I wish we could have got the pole. That would have been icing on the cake, but we've got a good starting spot. I think the car will race well, but it obviously a backup car for a reason."

CASEY MEARS (No. 41 Target Dodge Charger)

"We haven't been able to hit it this year in qualifying. I think we've been close in two races this year for qualifying, but it could have been worse. It was just too loose. We picked up from practice, but that wasn't very good."

TRAVIS KVAPIL (No. 77 Kodak/Jasper Dodge Charger)

"We were tight. It's tough with the impound rules. You're limited on the number of tires, so you want to spend time in race trim. I was hoping we would qualify better than that, but I think it'll race good. We tested here in the spring. We had a good race in the spring, but we got wrecked. Hopefully we can stay on the track all day and be there at the end on Sunday."

RUSTY WALLACE (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)

"It was way too loose. We'll see what we've got now. The track heated up a bunch. The track was 82 last night when we made our banzai run, and it's 97 now. We probably should have put some more air pressure in the right front. I feel good about the race."

JAMIE McMURRAY (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Charger)

"We're not known for qualifying. The car is good on old tires, so we'll have to wait and see. We've had good cars here in the past. We tried to loosen it up as much as we could, and it might have been too loose for qualifying, but I think we'll race good."

JEREMY MAYFIELD (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)

"We just couldn't find any grip. We were sliding around a little bit. We weren't that good yesterday. We made some changes and hoped it would be better today, but I don't guess it was. We'll be starting in the back, but we'll try to work our way to the front and stay up there tomorrow."

STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Charger)

"We've just had a multitude of problems since we've been here. We tried some things this morning, and we had a totally new setup when we went out."

KYLE PETTY (No. 45 Georgia-Pacific/Brawny Dodge Charger)

"That wasn't very good. It was a lot tighter than I thought it was going to be. It just wouldn't turn in the middle of the corner."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger)

"That wasn't too bad. It was a lot faster than we were yesterday. The car was better where we needed it to be better, so hopefully it'll help in the race tomorrow. The track heated up, but you could have maybe gained a couple of spots by going out earlier. It's not a difference of first and 20th, that's for sure. We've got a top 20 car, and we'll make the best of it tomorrow."
