===== Veteran stock car driver Tim Steele, who had been at Atlanta Motor Speedway testing the No. 15 NASCAR Winston Cup Series car owned by Bud Moore, crashed the Ford Wednesday in the fourth turn of the newly reconfigured quad-oval. Steele was taken by ambulance to Southern Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ga., checked for injuries, then released. He underwent a CT scan, which was negative, and treated for a sprained left ankle. He had been preparing for the No. 16 NAPA 500 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race, the finale for the 1997 season. "I really don't know what happened," Steele said after being released. "I'm not sure I want to know, but I'm OK. My ankle is a little sore, but I'm fine." Steele, a resident of Coopersville, Mich., is a three-time Automobile Racing Club of America Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series champion. He has won a record three ARCA races at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He plans to compete in both the Reese's 400 for the ARCA cars on Nov. 15 and a day later in the NAPA 500. Musgrave's possible BGN deal won't happen. Also, since Kingsford Charcoal has announced they will be with #59 Busch team next year, Royal Oak has rethought their decision to leave Team 34 and may co-sponsor the car with Gould's Pumps or may re-replace them.
