Long Pond, Pa. - Ryan Newman backed up his qualifying effort by turning the fastest lap in Winston Cup happy hour Saturday with a lap of 164.438 mph. The time was some six miles-per off his time trial speed which topped out at 170.358 mph during Friday's session.

Newman takes the green flag Sunday in the No. 12 Penske Dodge hunting for his fourth win of the season, "We bring different racecars to different racetracks. You've got to have the total package. At Chicago, we had the total package. At Loudon, Jimmie (Johnson) had the total package.

"It's all about that. You don't always see the fastest car winning, and that's part of the sport. You're going to have fuel mileage races when the fuel performance outlasts the tire performance. If you don't have to duck down for tires, you'll have a good car and won't have to duck down for fuel. We'll let the crew chiefs figure it out, and we'll just drive what we've got."

Jeff Burton and the Roush Racing No. 99 Ford team was second fastest, posting a lap of 164.246 mph. Jeff Green, Bill Elliott and Ricky Craven round out the top five best times.

Jimmie Johnson, who starts from the outside pole position for Sunday's Pennsylvania 500, charted only the 19th quickest time today at 162.925 mph.
