True or not? Kurt Busch could end up racing for the "King". Richard Petty Motorsports' COO Robbie Loomis apparently told a source at Sirius - Speedway.com that indeed the team is interested in placing the 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion in a Ford. The Dodge driver for Penske Racing was let go due to his actions this year; mainly off the track.

Busch put himself on the hot seat in the season finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

According to Sirius-Speedway, Loomis said: "Best Buy has been a great partner for a long time, and AJ Allmendinger has done a fantastic job for us. He's coming off his best season yet, but I can tell you there is a lot of interest on our part in having Kurt Busch in the fold. It makes sense to have Kurt with our team, if we can make it work."

The shockwaves will roll on this news as AJ Allmendinger has built up a fan base with his outgoing attitude and his availability to chat with NASCAR fans. The former Indy car driver also earned his respect from his competitors. It would seem odd for Best Buy to want him out of the RPM No. 43 Ford.

Of course, the fans will recall that Busch was a Ford driver and his own actions at that time saw him fall out of favor with Ford and their main team, Roush Fenway Racing. No comment from Ford Racing has been made on the possible return of Busch in a Ford product.

Yet Sirius-Speedway claims that Loomis is looking at Busch to keep the sponsor (Best Buy) for the 2012 season. Marcos Ambrose's seat with RPM is secured.

"I would mortgage my house to make Kurt a part of this team," said Loomis according to Sirius-Speedway.

No doubt others are shaking their heads at the news; especially considering it would put the temperamental Busch in a Ford!
