NASCAR Invades York

On Thursday, July 22, 1999, Center City York, Penna. will host the 6th annual "Invasion of NASCAR" event.

This year's event, held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., will feature autograph sessions by some of the top names in NASCAR racing today.

The autograph sessions will kick off at 11:00 a.m. with Busch Grand National driver, Kerry Earnhardt, son of seven time Winston Cup Champion, Dale Earnhardt. Also scheduled to make appearances throughout the day are Winston Cup drivers, Rusty Wallace, Sterling Martin, Robert Pressley and Jerry Nadeau.

As an added bonus this year, two NHRA Funny Car Champions, Cruz Pedregon and Pennsylvania's own, Bruce Larson will sign autographs from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In response to Kyle Petty's food drive, which has been conducted through his souvenir trailers at races across the country, the York County Food Bank will be holding a food drive at the rear of Central Market. The first 1000 racing fans donating canned goods will be treated to a "goody bag" filled with items from local businesses. The food drive will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
