Last Martinsville Event | Tires were the word of the spring event at Martinsville Speedway, especially for the TBR No. 36 ALL SPORT Body Quencher Chevrolet team. Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to a 29th-place starting position and looked poised for a solid point finish in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500. An issue with the right-front tire caused four flat tires, and Blaney finished 30th, 14 laps down.

In The Points | The strong third-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway kept the TBR No. 36 team in the 32nd position in NSCS Owner Points and increased the team’s lead over 33rd and 35th. The team is 17 points ahead of the No. 13 in 33rd and locked into the top-35 by 61 points. They now trail the 31st position by 53 points. Blaney held onto the 32nd spot in the NSCS Driver Points and narrowed Casey Mears’ lead in 30th to nine points. He is now 62 points ahead of Andy Lally in 33rd.

Dave Blaney Quotes:

On Racing at Martinsville: “Martinsville is a very challenging track. We had some brake trouble last time we were here. The guys at the shop have worked hard to fix that issue, so hopefully we can hang in there all day and get a decent finish. Martinsville is usually an exciting race, and it’s a good race for fans because the grandstands are right on top of the action. I like racing at Martinsville because it is really close to home. I will get the chance to watch my son Ryan race at Hickory on Saturday, so I’m really excited about that.”

Tommy Baldwin Quotes:

On This Weekend: “Martinsville is one of my favorite places to go. It’s a great short track and a track with a lot of good history. I grew up racing there with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, which makes it more exciting for me when we go there.”
