Michigan's Finest To Run Life Lock 400; Wood Brothers Racing, Bill Elliott and Motorcraft

Brooklyn, MI - June 14, 2008) - The Wood Brothers have more Cup wins at Michigan than any other team. Bill Elliott is one of the most victorious drivers in Michigan's history and Motorcraft is Michigan based company. All will be appropriately partnered for the Life Lock 400 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) on Sunday, June 15th.

Bill will be starting Sunday's event in 37th position after NASCAR made the decision to cancel qualifying due to rain. Because qualifying was canceled, the 43 car field will line up according to NASCAR's rule book. The first 35 cars are set by the current owner point standings. Since Bill is a past Cup champion and not in the top 35, he will start the race in 37th position behind a more recent past Cup champion, Terry Labonte, who will start 36th.

Elliott is a seven time winner at the two mile, D-shaped oval. He won four in a row from 1985 to 1986. Bill began his legendary Cup racing career at MIS when he partnered with Michigan businessman Henry Melling in 1982. Henry Melling provided sponsorship for Bill's first full Cup season.

The Wood Brothers have 11 wins at MIS with four of those being sweeps in both 1974 and then again in 1976 with driver David Pearson. Motorcraft, which is headquarterd in nearby Dearborn, Michigan, will be the primary sponsor on the #21 for this weekend's race.
