BRIAN VICKERS, NO. 25 GMAC MONTE CARLO SS, BEHIND THE HAULER CHAT
On announcement that Casey Mears will take over seat in No. 25 GMAC Monte Carlo SS in 2007:
"I am happy for Casey and for Hendrick Motorsports. It was an obvious option for those guys. Casey is a very talented driver. Once the Hendrick Motorsports option became available to him, he obviously had to consider it. I am happy for both sides and I am sure it will work out fine."
With recent "issues" between Casey and Kyle Busch, any advice on sharing a shop next season?
"That is something that will have to be worked out between those two guys and questions better asked for the two of them. Everyone over there is very professional and I know Casey is very professional so I am sure they will be able to handle everything just fine."
On goals with No. 25 team for remainder of the 2006 season:
"My goals are no different right now than they were at the beginning of the season. We want to try to get some wins and consistent top-five and top-10s and in to the Chase. All of those things are still possible. I think the "lame duck" thing is out of the question for this team and we proved that last weekend in Pocono. I believe we will continue to do that."
You have been so close to wins; can you point to one thing that will be the push you need to get to victory circle?
"I have been asking myself that question for a long time. I don't know what it is, maybe it is a curse, just bad luck, I don't know what it is, but we have come so close so many times and just hasn't happened, but we aren't giving up."
