How was your qualifying lap? "It was a good lap and I know we have a good car. The track didn't seem to have as much grip as it did in practice so we'll have to see how it is in race trim during tomorrow's practice. This car is set up real similar to the California Speedway car, which was strong for us. But since the California race, Toyota has been working real hard to get the power curve better on the motors. We struggled a lot last week on where our engine package was at Pocono, but I think our balance is a lot better here at Michigan. This track suits Toyota's engine package because we are using the top-end of the motor a lot more. We're still not right where we want to be, but this track definitely suits our package a lot better."

DAVE BLANEY, No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota Camry, Bill Davis Racing: Starting position: 17th

How was your car in qualifying? "Our car's been really solid all day and we pretty much backed up our practice runs. I thought we could run pretty much what we did and maybe I was a little conservative, but it is more important to be in the race on Sunday. It was a good lap and I'm real happy with it. We'll get some good practice in tomorrow and get ready for the race."

MICHAEL WALTRIP, No. 55 NAPA Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing: Starting position: 18th

How was your qualifying lap today? "From the first time I ran in practice this morning, the car just felt right. It ran well and it would go where I wanted it to. We just nicked at it all through practice and kept improving. Last week we had to re-build the car before our qualifying run and that's a hard situation to be in. Today we were just normal and that was good enough to get a solid starting position for Sunday. We are taking baby steps and this is a good step in the right direction. I would definitely rather be in than out and now we need to focus on running good in the race."

DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 00 Burger King Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing: Starting position: 40th

How was your qualifying lap today? "It was just an aggravating, disappointing qualifying run. The track seemed to get hotter as the session went on and my lap definitely wasn't what I was hoping for. Our motor is strong, but we have really been battling the handling on the car all day. We just can't seem to get on the other side of what the car needs. We keep making changes and it just doesn't seem to do what we need it to do. Hopefully we'll be able to make it better during practice tomorrow so we can run well on Sunday."

AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 84 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Team Red Bull: Starting position: 43rd

How was your qualifying run? "I'm happy to be in the race, but there's not really anything good to say about our qualifying run. We just missed it today and we were really loose. Tomorrow we'll use both practices to get the car better on race runs. The good thing is Brian (Vickers) and the No. 83 team are really fast this weekend, so hopefully we can learn something from them and have a good race on Sunday."
