SCOTT RIGGS QUOTES:
"This Stanley Tools/Valvoline Team is really looking forward to racing at Michigan. This is a track that I have had some success at in the past, but also we are bringing a chassis that we are very confident in. This is the same car we raced in the 600 in May. I am very proud of the way our team has overcome some adversity on the track in our last two races to post decent finishes. This weekend we really want to leave Michigan with a top five, but we are making sure we are prepared to compete for the win."
RODNEY CHILDERS QUOTES:
"Our intermediate track program is one of our strongest areas at Valvoline Evernham Racing. This team has run strong at Las Vegas, Texas, and Lowe's this season. Scott knows his way around Michigan and I think we have a pretty good shot this weekend. The guys are putting in extra time in the shop to make sure we are prepared and we are really putting in a strong effort for this race specifically."
Scott Riggs has completed 99.8 percent of his scheduled Cup laps at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and 100 percent of Busch laps, his average finish in Cup at MIS is 16.0 and he finished in second there to future teammate Jeremy Mayfield last year.
Riggs and teammates Kasey Kahne and Jeremy Mayfield are participating in a road course test session with Boris Said at Virginia International Raceway on Tuesday and Wednesday.
With his finish at Pocono, Riggs posts his fourth top 10 of the season and his second best finish of the year. He also picked up four positions in the championship point standings.
The No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Charger has been running at the end of all 13 Cup races in which it has competed this season as well as both exhibition races (Shootout and All-Star).
Crew Chief Rodney Childers calls chassis No. 130, which will race in Michigan this weekend, his "baby" because he feels it is the No. 10 team's best Charger.
