Paul Menard on Michigan International Speedway: "Honestly, we weren't very good in Michigan the last time we were here. We were pretty optimistic about the way our Ford Fusion would perform on race day, but fought both tight and loose handling conditions just about all day. That was one of the races this year where we were really disappointed in our performance and we vowed that when we went back there for the second time, we would be a lot better.

"Slugger has been working hard to make sure we have a much better result this weekend, so I'm looking forward to getting there. You never know exactly what you're going to get as far as how the race will shape up at Michigan and that's what makes it fun."

Crew Chief Slugger Labbe's Thoughts on MIS: "Michigan is a track where not a lot of action happens per se, but there's a lot of racing. Cautions are sometimes rare, so it comes down to fuel mileage a lot of times. I was fortunate to win a race there in 2005 on fuel mileage, but, you've got to handle well there too. What happens is as the race goes on the track gets rubbered up and the cars get looser off the corners, so you really have to guard against that and prepare for that in practice on Saturday. We're taking the same car we ran in June, but we've done a lot of work to it to prepare for this race, so we're confident we'll have a better run than we did the first time around."

Chassis History: Crew chief Slugger Labbe and the No. 98 RPM crew have prepared chassis No. 683 for this weekend's event. This is the same car the team ran at the June race at Michigan International Speedway. It has also seen action at Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, Calif.) and Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.

Menard will travel to a NIBCO World Headquarters in Elkhart, Ind. this Thursday to visit with and sign autographs for NIBCO employ-ees. NIBCO partnered with Menards and sponsored the No. 98 Ford Fusion at Martinsville Speedway in March.

Menard continues to compete in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series events. He currently holds down sixth spot in the Nationwide driver point standings after 21 races.
