"We've had a lot of success at Michigan, with a win and four top-five finishes in seven races. The No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger will carry the 2006 aero package this weekend. We won the first race at Michigan last year with that package and finished fourth in the second. Although it's the same car we used last year, there are major differences in how it handles and responds to adjustments because of the tires we're running this year.

"Michigan is a wide track with several lines. That gives the driver the ability to help with the handling. By moving around, running a different line, a driver can loosen or tighten up a racecar. You can't do that at some tracks. It's very important to search for a faster line around the track. It may be a line other drivers are running or it may be a line that only provides results for your car."

* Kahne has finished in the top-five in four of his seven career starts at Michigan. His average finish is 13.0.

* In the spring of 2006, Kahne led 19 laps en route to his first Michigan victory and grabbed his fourth of six victories during the year.

* Kahne also qualifies exceptionally well at the two-mile oval. He has three starts inside the top-five.

* Kahne is in his fourth season with Evernham Motorsports. He posted a series-high six wins last year and earned a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
