Tony Stewart heads to Michigan as the points leader in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Stewart remarked after his win at Pocono last weekend, the first for an owner/driver since 1998: "I have to thank Old Spice, Office Depot, U.S. Army, Coca Cola and Chevrolet who was the first one to say they wanted to be a part of this."

TEAM CHEVY IMPALA SS - INSIDE THE GARAGE AT MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, PAT SUHY, GM RACING NASCAR GROUP MANAGER: "I am looking forward to having our Chevy teams here in our backyard at Michigan International Speedway. We are off to great start this season with seven (7) wins in 14 races and are showing no signs of slowing down.

"Even though we didn't win at California earlier in the year, our Impala SS teams were strong which bodes well for them as we head to MIS. Our GM Racing engineers have worked with our teams on improvements for the California-Michigan tracks and I feel confident we will be a strong contender to follow-up the efforts with a win at Michigan.

"The higher speed and longer straightaways of Michigan make the aero package potentially more important than at other tracks although engine and chassis can't be ignored. With the tight box NASCAR has us in with our Impala SS race cars; it is an on-going process to make big gains. But we have seen continual improvement and I am ready to see great results for Team Chevy on Sunday."
