Quotes from Dale Earnhardt Jr.
"I know we have been up front lately, but the Dover top-10 was good for me and the team. We don't have that same confidence yet that we did in the Busch Series where we KNOW going into each and every weekend that we're going to be a top car. We struggled in the race at Dover but still had a good finish. That helps our confidence this week at Michigan because we've run the Cup race there last year and we were strong in the Busch car."

Career Busch Series Starts: 3 Best Start: 3rd (1999) Best Finish: 1st (1999) </pre> Michigan is the site of Dale Jr's battle royale with his father in an International Race of Champions (IROC) race last year. The final lap has become Earnhardt family folklore as father and son bumped, scraped and gouged each other on their way to a photo finish. Junior had taken the lead with yards to go, but an aerodynamic "push" from Rusty Wallace helped Dale nip his son by inches at the finish line. Father and son still argue good-naturedly about the race.
Here's Dale Jr's only-half-kidding take on the IROC finish: "Dad and Rusty seem like they're real tough rivals and all that - you know, enemies or something - but then they ganged-up on me there like two fishing buddies and took one away from the young kid."
What They're Saying
While Budweiser is thrilled to sponsor and promote the racing exploits of young Mr. Earnhardt, we try to do so with a minimum of hyperbole and overstatement. However, we are not above pointing out some of the things OTHERS have said about Bud Boy. Here are a few of the recent gems:
