Rookie of the Year candidate heads to one of his favorite tracks.
Michael Annett and the No. 7 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet SS venture to Richmond, Va. this weekend for the ninth race of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season taking place at the 3/4-mile Richmond International Raceway.
Annett, a Rookie of the Year candidate, cites Richmond as one of his favorite racetracks, and for good reason. He finished 13th or better, including a fifth-place finish in 2012, in his last four NASCAR Nationwide Series races at the facility. His seventh-place average running position in the fall race last year served as his best single-race average running position in all of 2013.
"Richmond has become one of my favorite tracks. We ran in the top 10 there in the Nationwide Series, and I know Tommy's (Baldwin, owner) cars have had some good runs there in the past. We had a really good passing car at Phoenix, and our car for this weekend should be really similar to that one. I'm optimistic about having a really good night in our Pilot Flying J Chevrolet SS."
