The No. 4 KODAK MAX Film Monte Carlo started the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in 42nd position with driver Kevin Lepage behind the wheel for the first time. Lepage had moved up to 29th by lap 116. The team caught a break when the No. 33 fell out of the race and was able to switch to the front-stretch pits on lap 179. Following minor adjustments during pit stops and a penalty after a pit stop, the team was able to finish in 15th position. Kevin Lepage, driver of the No. 4 KODAK MAX Film Monte Carlo: "I am proud of the Kodak team. These guys really did a great job for a driver to come in on Thursday morning and get fitted into the car. The driver stuck us in a hole for qualifying on Friday. We just never gave up. David Ifft and all of the guys worked real hard during Happy Hour. We ran many laps last night just trying to figure out what this KODAK MAX Film Monte Carlo needed to run fast in long runs and short runs. I think it paid off today. "We came in on the lead lap during the race and we were going to do a two tire pit stop to gain track position. One of the guys on the team that was pitting behind us jumped out in front of me. All I saw was legs and a jack. I was not going to hit him, so I went around him and pitted. When I turned back out, the right front was on the yellow line. They told us in the driver meeting that we could pit with the tire on the yellow line, but we could not be out of it. I guess we were out of it. "Spotter, Jerry McClure, did a great job up there getting us back up through traffic to get our lap back .We raced our way back up through there. To start 42nd here at Bristol and to come home with a top-15 finish on the lead lap, that is a credit to this race team. When they give the driver a good race car, it is easy on the driver."
Larry McClure, owner No.4 KODAK MAX Film Chevy, quotes:
"He did a great job coming up from where he did. We double pitted during the first of the race, then changed pits during the race. It was excitable. Taking a provisional here was kind of hard to take on Friday, but we overcame that. We made a step in the right direction in the points to position ourselves in the top-25. "This is the best finish we have had all year. Kevin was new driver, we had new pit guys. They all communicated well. That helped us. Everything was really smooth. We changed the car every pit stop. His first performance with us was admirable. That is what we needed. We needed a settling factor as much as anything. "We will go to Martinsville and test with Kevin this week then we will move on to Texas. We will talk next week. One race does not say everything. This team just went through something that I do not want to go through again. I will make sure the right decision is made this time for Morgan-McClure.":
