STATESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2008) -- Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 Best Buy Dodge are headed back to Virginia for the final time in 2008. Sadler, a Virginia native, loves racing in his home state.

"Martinsville is like the Wrigley Field of NASCAR," said Sadler. "It's one of the oldest racetracks on the circuit and it is a great place to watch a race as a fan. Martinsville is almost like a trip back in time to the glory days of racing. There is a lot of beating and banging for position and it can really be a lot of fun."

In his previous trip to Martinsville this season, Sadler battled a back problem that nearly took him out of the racecar before his personal doctor made a visit to the racetrack to help. Sadler battled through serious discomfort to finish 15th.

In the last three races, the No. 19 Dodge has recorded top-10s at Kansas and Talladega and a 20th place finish at Charlotte. He's scored the third most points of the non-Chase drivers.

Elliott Sadler Quotes

On reaching the half-way point of the Chase: "The last couple weeks we have been racing to some of our best finishes all year. If you look at our finishes since the Chase started you'd see that of the non-Chase guys we are consistently turning in some of the best finishes each week. We are focusing on winning, but we are in a position that we can take some chances down the stretch. We can try new things that could help us for 2009 and really use each week to test something new to find out what this car is capable of heading into next season. We are still racing for wins each week, but we also have the luxury of taking chances to get ahead that some of the other teams can't right now because they are racing for points."

On racing in Virginia: "Racing in Virginia is something that I really enjoy. The Virginia tracks hold a special place in my heart. Martinsville and Richmond are both tracks that I visited with my family growing up. When I was a kid we would come out here and watch the races and cheer for our favorite drivers. Now it's pretty cool to think that I'm one of the people fortunate enough to be able to race at the highest level of our sport in front the fans. I used to be one of those fans sitting in the stands."

Chassis Info: The No. 19 Best Buy Dodge is racing chassis No. 244, which raced to a 32nd-place finish at Bristol in August. Chassis No. 221 will serve as the backup. Sadler raced No. 221 at Martinsville in March.

Chased-Out Standings: David Ragan (639 pts), Bobby Labonte (598 pts), Elliott Sadler (549 pts) and Kasey Kahne (545 pts) and Kurt Busch (544) are the top five non-chase drivers through the first five chase races of 2008.

Sadler at Martinsville: In 19 previous starts, Sadler has started three times in the top-10, has one top-five and three top-10 finishes. He has led in three races for a total of 49 laps.
