KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Avenger) "The lap felt good. We should end up around 10th or so. It's qualifying at Martinsville and anything can happen. Starting up front really helps but it's a long race come Sunday." Sam Hornish Jr.

Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 06 Mobile 1 Dodge Avenger)
"The rain certainly doesn't help with getting practice time. It's tough but we knew it was going to be tough. That qualifying lap was our own fault. The car was good on the warm up lap but it had way too much push on the qualifying lap. It's frustrating but we'll keep working at it."
Juan montoya (No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge Avenger)
"It was pretty tight. I lost quite a bit of time in one and two. It was just very tight. The second lap I backed up and I still couldn't get out of the corner. I'm a little disappointed but we ran about the same we did in the first race. I think it's pretty good."
Ryan Newman (No. 12 alltel Dodge Avenger)
"The car was just a little tight. It was a decent lap it just felt slow. Either way it was a good reference to the fact that it was our first qualifying run. We definitely have a car we can work with tomorrow and Sunday. It will be a decent starting spot that hopefully will turn into a good day.
"Here you need to be good on long runs and old tires. You can do 150 laps on fuel but you have to have good tires."
ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger)
"I think it was a pretty good run here, for me. I'm not the best qualifier at Martinsville so my guys did a good job. I think that is going to end up in the top 15 somewhere and get us a good starting position for Sunday. Anywhere not in the back half of the field is a good starting spot. I'm happy with that. My car has been driving good all weekend, I'm proud of my guys and my Avenger feels comfortable. We'll go get them on Sunday."
Scott Riggs (No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge Avenger)
"I hope the lap was good enough. We picked up a little bit there but we need to pick up a lot. We only had 11 laps in practice and we were locking up the left front. The car was free in, tight in the middle and tight off. I hope it will be a good enough lap to get in but am not satisfied with it."
KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Avenger)
"The car was really nice. It moved around a little bit getting in. I think I missed my corner's a little bit. So it should have been better than what it was. The car was much better then I was today and hopefully that will be a top 10 starting spot."
BOBBY LABONTE (No. 43 Goody's Headache Powders Dodge Avenger)
"I didn't think that was as good a qualifying lap as we needed to run by the end of qualifying. We are going to get knocked back. But we made some big changes before qualifying because we weren't as good as we needed to be in practice. I think the changes we made will be better for practice tomorrow. This has always been a good track for me so hopefully we can keep all the fenders on it."
JOHN ANDRETTI (No. 49 Paralyzed Veterans of America Dodge Avenger)
"BAM Racing has done a great job. The PVA.org Dodge was good all day. I'm really looking forward to Martinsville. I love racing here. I don't like qualifying here so to qualify near the front says alot for what the team has done."
REED SORENSON (No. 41 Target Dodge Avenger)
"The lap didn't feel very good. We were pretty bad in practice so we expected to be like that. We made a lot of changes and made it better just not as good as we could have been with more practice. We only focused on race trim. We will be alright. It's a long race here."
DAVID STREMME (No. 40 Target House Dodge Avenger)
"Our lap wasn't that good. I feel like we have a really good race car in race trim. I got really tight on my first lap coming to the line and had to lift so that killed both laps.
"It has been tough with the rain but everybody has that same problem. I'm not going to worry about it. We will be fine in race trim."
