Casey Mears and No. 41 Target Dodge

Target Team Facts:

* Another Top 10: Sophomore Casey Mears tied his career-best finish of seventh two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway. Mears piloted the Target Dodge to a seventh-place finish at Las Vegas in March of this year. After earning one top-15 finish in his rookie season in 2003, he has already racked up four top 15's this season.

* Championship Standings: Mears and the Target Team jumped five spots in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup standings to 18th following their top-10 finish at Texas. The team sits just 82 points out of the NASCAR Top 10.

* Martinsville Facts: Last spring was the first time Mears set foot on the grounds of Martinsville Speedway. He quickly learned the half-mile track was one of the toughest on the NASCAR circuit. He finished 36th in the spring race, four laps down to the leader, but improved to finish on the lead lap in 17th last fall.

* Chassis: Crew chief Jimmy Elledge and the Target Team are bringing chassis #106 to the shortest track on the NASCAR circuit. Mears drove this chassis four times last season at Loudon, Phoenix and both Richmond races. His best finish in this car was 16th at Loudon last July.

Casey Mears Quotes:

On Martinsville... "The first time I raced at Martinsville last spring I looked like I wasn't supposed to be there at all," said Mears. "I had never run anything quite like Martinsville where you need to use so much brake at a short-track. In the fall race I was at least competitive and finished on the lead lap. That's what I need to do, is just keep making those gains. If I improve as much as I did last time, I should be able to run inside the top-10."
