"The "M&M's"® Team needs to have a solid weekend from start to finish. We thought we were going to get the chance at Bristol, but it just didn't turn out to be our weekend. We did OK because we brought the car home in one piece, but we didn't do as well as we hoped. We were loose early, then we went a little too far on our adjustments and we got too tight. But about the last 200 laps the car handled the best it had all weekend. Then we had a tire start to go down with nine to go in the race and we just had to nurse it around to the finish.
"Texas Motor Speedway has come a long way since we first raced there. Last year was my best performance there qualifying, and I hope I can better that this year. Last year we started seventh, and this year we really need to qualify strong. On top of the Winston Cup action at Texas, I'm really looking forward to watching the Outlaws run on the new dirt track. I haven't seen it yet, but I hear it is a pretty sporty little track, so you better believe I'll make a trip out there."
