Loudon II: Jamie McMurray preview

HAVOLINE TEAM FACTS: Chassis: The Havoline team will race chassis ...

Chassis: The Havoline team will race chassis #208. Chassis #208 is the same car McMurray scored a third-place finish with at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 23, 2003.

Jamie McMurray was the top Raybestos® Rookie last weekend at Richmond International Raceway. McMurray finished 19th and stretched his lead to 13 over Greg Biffle (245-232) in the Raybestos® Rookie standings. McMurray took top rookie honors for the 12th time in 2003, more than any other first-year driver.

In his last six races, McMurray has scored three top-five finishes, including back-to-back finishes of third and fourth respectively (Bristol - 3rd ; Darlington - 4th ).

McMurray has scored more top-five (five) and top-10 (seven) finishes than any other Raybestos® Rookie this season.

McMurray comes to New Hampshire 20th in NASCAR Winston Cup Series points.

"Hopefully we'll have a better go of it this time around at Loudon. We struggled up there back in July, but were able to lead some laps as a result of gaining track position through pit strategy. And then we had a right front tire blow on the Havoline Dodge and I hit the wall pretty hard and our day was over."

"They've really made improvements to the track at Loudon, and now with the soft walls in place, it's even a safer track for us to race us. Loudon's a place that's hard to pass on, but if you can get your car set up to handle through the turns and have horsepower down the straight-aways, you'll be good. We're taking the same car we ran at Bristol two weeks ago and finished third with. We should be in good shape this weekend with the Havoline Dodge."
