STEVE PARK (No. 1 Pennzoil Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Park will drive the same Monte Carlo at NHIS that finished fourth last week at Richmond. He also raced the car in July at New Hampshire and finished 28th. Park tested the Monte Carlo for two days this week at Milwaukee. Park has finished first, 33rd, fifth, 10th and fourth in his last five starts and has jumped from 17th to 13th in the NASCAR Winston Cup Standings (NWCS). He's just 18 points behind 11th place Mike Skinner.
DALE EARNHARDT (No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Monte Carlo) Earnhardt finished second last week at Richmond, and he'll drive the same Monte Carlo in Sunday's Dura-Lube 300 Sponsored by Kmart. He drove the same Monte Carlo at NHIS in July and finished sixth. The seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion moved a step closer to a record eighth title last week with his runner-up finish. Earnhardt is now second in the standings, 158 points behind leader Bobby Labonte.
BOBBY HAMILTON (No. 4 Kodak MAX Film Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Hamilton will drive the same Monte Carlo he raced earlier this season in the Brickyard 400. He finished 40th in that race, 22nd last time at NHIS and ranks 30th in the NWCS.
TERRY LABONTE (No. 5 Kellogg's Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Labonte will drive his Texas pole car at NHIS. It's chassis No. 88. Rich Bickle drove it to an 11th place finish earlier this season at Pocono. Labonte finished 43rd in July at NHIS and ranks 18th in the NWCS.
MICHAEL WALTRIP (No. 7 NationsRent Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Waltrip will race his Martinsville Monte Carlo on Sunday at NHIS. Waltrip finished a season-best third with it at Martinsville. Waltrip finished 43rd last week at Richmond, 35th in July at NHIS and ranks 28th in the NWCS.
DALE EARNHARDT Jr. (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 8 Budweiser Monte Carlo team brought a brand new Monte Carlo to NHIS. Earnhardt Jr. finished 21st here in July, 13th last week at Richmond and ranks 14th in the NWCS.
STERLING MARLIN (No. 40 Coors Light Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Marlin will drive the same Monte Carlo at NHIS that carried him to a 20th-place finish last week at Richmond. Marlin finished 25th earlier this season at New Hampshire and ranks 17th in the NWCS.
TED MUSGRAVE (No. 01 BellSouth Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Musgrave will drive the same Monte Carlo at NHIS that he drove at Richmond. Musgrave finished 21st in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond. He'll attempt to make his fifth straight start in the BellSouth Monte Carlo at NHIS.
JEFF GORDON (No. 24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Monte Carlo) Fresh off his third victory of the season under the lights last Saturday night in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond International Raceway, the 29-year-old Vallejo, Calif., native will attempt to improve on his fifth-place finish earlier this season at NHIS. Gordon will drive the same Monte Carlo that he drove earlier this year at New Hampshire. It's chassis No. 2434, and he also drove it at Martinsville, the first Richmond race and the first Pocono event. Gordon ranks 10th in the NWCS.
MIKE SKINNER (No. 31 Lowe's Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Skinner will race the Monte Carlo he drove at Homestead last year. It's a standard chassis (No. 33), a deviation from the low snout cars the 31 team usually runs at NHIS. Skinner finished 39th in July at NHIS, 30th last week at Richmond and ranks 11th in the NWCS.
JERRY NADEAU (No. 25 Michael Holigan.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Nadeau will drive the same Monte Carlo here on Sunday that finished fourth at NHIS in July. "I'd say it's going to be this week's winner," crew chief Tony Furr said. "We were headed in that direction here last time until it rained us out. I think we can improve three spots with it Sunday." Nadeau finished 10th last week at Richmond and ranks 23rd in the NWCS.
JOE NEMECHEK (No. 33 Oakwood Homes Chevrolet Monte Carlo) The defending race champion finished second here earlier this season. He'll race the same Monte Carlo, chassis No. 9815, that he drove here in July. Nemechek finished 40th last week at Richmond and ranks 20th in the NWCS.
RICKY CRAVEN (No. 50 Midwest Transit Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Craven will race the same Monte Carlo he drove earlier this season at Las Vegas, Richmond, Martinsville and New Hampshire. Craven qualified fifth and finished 17th here in July. He finished 26th last week at Richmond.
KENNY WALLACE (No. 55 Square D Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Wallace will race chassis No. 98117 at NHIS. It's the same car he piloted to a 14th-place finish last week at Richmond. Wallace finished 26th at NHIS in July and ranks 29th in the NWCS.
JOE BESSEY (No. 60 Power Team Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Bessey will attempt to qualify for his first race of the season in a sister car to the one that was wrecked last week at Richmond. "We're going to focus on the present," said Bessey, owner turned driver after firing Geoffrey Bodine after last week's race. "If I can't help the team by driving, then we'll make more changes."
DAVE MARCIS (No. 71 Realtree Chevrolet Monte Carlo) Marcis will drive the same car he had at Richmond last week and at New Hampshire earlier this season.
